On the run…

Of course, having a day off has left me with a TON of work to do. I’m trying to get out of the house early this morning with my daughter. The same one who took 1/2 hour to figure out how to put her shirt on.

What do you think the chances are?

Tooth Filling 101

I took the day off to take The Little Kid to the dentist. She was having a tooth filled. We got there at 8:40. She was done at 9.

When the nurse came to get me, I thought there was some sort of problem. Mass hysteria? But no. They were just done with the procedure already.

For about an hour, she wasn’t supposed to eat. After that, she felt fine, so I took her to school. It gave me a chance to do some Christmas shopping without having to fend off the pleas to get more stuff than I bargained for, if you know what I mean.

I spent 2 hours in Kohl’s trying to figure out what the heck to buy some people.

After awhile, I just say “screw it”, get what’s in the basket and get the heck out of the store. No need shopping till your head spins, right? :)

scrapbooking

I’ve decided I’d better get my act together and work on the scrapbook I started for my daughter last year. I only had one page done. Today, there are 3 pages.

One of my problems is that I never print any pictures. But I’ve just sent some to Walgreens via Snapfish, and they’re waiting for me to pick up.

The other problem is that I can’t figure out how the heck people get all of those scrapbooking supplies. I mean, for gosh sakes, it’s got to be spendy accumulating stuff, right? There has to be a trick to it. Tell me the trick. I know you know. :)

Today, I went to a scrapbooking store in the shopping plaza down the street from us. OMG. They had tons of stuff there! Nice stuff. Ever take a 6-year-old to the scrapbooking store with you? “Mom? Can I make a scrapbook?” “Ummm… let me figure out my own scrapbook and we’ll go from there…”

A Drop of Dawn Makes a Difference

A Drop of Dawn Makes a Difference. And So Can You.

I have been reading about a serious problem, and would like you to know about it. Oil in our nation’s waterways harms, even kills, birds and other wildlife—and most of this oil comes from things we do in our homes, everyday.

Thankfully, Dawn has been helping these animals for over twenty-five years, and lisa is helping them spread the word. View my e-card here and you can start making a difference today.

Thanksgiving

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the US. We’re off to my husband’s aunt’s and uncle’s house for dinner. Our contribution is a relish tray. It was kind of fun picking out what to put in it:

Cubed mild cheddar cheese
garlic stuffed green olives
black olives
candied apple rings
celery stuffed with pineapple neufchatel cheese
deviled eggs
grape tomatoes
tiny sweet pickles
and some Ritz crackers

I’m thankful for not having to cook an entire dinner. For me, it was either “get an invitation from someone” or “go to a restaurant for dinner”. Every time I decide to cook, I get the flu.

Seriously. I’m jinxed that way.
